Volleyball Game Preview: Murrieta Mesa Rams vs. Bishop Montgomery Knights

The Murrieta Mesa Rams will take on the Bishop Montgomery Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Murrieta Mesa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over El Segundo. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on four straight.

While Murrieta Mesa won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-23, 25-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murrieta Mesa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Livie Corelli, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Corelli has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Sade Valencia, who had six digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Bishop Montgomery made easy work of Xavier Prep on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Bishop Montgomery was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-12.

Murrieta Mesa's win bumped their record up to 31-6-2. As for Bishop Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.

Murrieta Mesa couldn't quite get it done against Bishop Montgomery when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
