Softball Game Preview: Hammonton Blue Devils vs. Buena Chiefs

The Hammonton Blue Devils will take on the Buena Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hammonton will be strutting in after a win while Buena will be coming in after a loss.

Hammonton barely beat Burlington Township the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils blew past the Falcons 10-2 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Buena unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 14-4 to Gateway Regional.

Buena saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Dixon, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Mia Cheli was another, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Hammonton and bumps their season record up to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Buena, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

Everything went Hammonton's way against Buena in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Hammonton made off with an 11-0 victory. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chiefs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
