Volleyball Recap: Texico Falls Short Against Ranked Melrose

Texico faced Melrose in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wolverines fell 3-1 to the Buffaloes. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buffaloes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Kinzee Crow paced Texico's offense, picking up 15 kills. Crow got some help from Kailie Wieland and her 29 assists. Crow was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Texico and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Melrose, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

While Texico had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
