Softball Preview: Champion Golden Flashes vs. LaBrae Vikings

Champion is 10-0 against LaBrae since May of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Champion Golden Flashes will be staying on the road to face off against the LaBrae Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Champion's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Newton Falls with a sharp 6-0 win.

Gabrielle Gradishar made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Gradishar has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Gradishar was also big at the plate, going 1-for-1 with a home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Addison Warzala was incredible, going 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sam Strock was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, LaBrae entered their tilt with Crestview with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Rebels on Monday as they made off with a 12-1 victory.

Champion pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for LaBrae, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

Champion took their win against LaBrae in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 13-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Champion since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
