Pamlico County came tearing into Wednesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Southside Seahawks a 19-0 shutout. The Hurricanes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Peyton Robinson and Hailey Shamblin did most of the damage at the plate: Robinson went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two triples, while Shamblin scored four runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Shamblin a new career-high in RBI (three). Taylor McHenry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Pamlico County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southside only posted an OBP of .211.

Pamlico County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Southside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pamlico County will square off against New Bern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hurricanes 3.9, the Bears 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Southside, they will challenge Lejeune at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
