Baseball Recap: Marion County Takes a Loss

Marion County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 9-4 to the Boyle County Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in March.

Wyatt Thompson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Landon Craig, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Marion County's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Boyle County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

While Marion County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
