Softball Recap: Wendell Trojans vs. Declo Hornets
Wendell blew Declo out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Declo got their revenge. The Trojans fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 10-8. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Breanna Comstock put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Comstock wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jace Olmos, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Olmos has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another was Macie Bird, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Wendell's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-6. As for Declo, they pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
