Recap: Northwest Christian Crusaders vs. Yuma Catholic Shamrocks
The Northwest Christian Crusaders were the 31-30 winner over the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Northwest Christian received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 24-10 to Yuma Catholic. Northwest Christian has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite the loss, Northwest Christian still got an impressive performance from Ben Lueders, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
It was another big night for Tayt Ford, who rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns. Ford hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Yuma Catholic also got help from Sir Stokes who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.
Northwest Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Yuma Catholic, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Christian will stay at home for another week and welcome Walden Grove at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Gabriel Smith and Evan Tarasenko. As for Yuma Catholic, they will be playing at home against Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Peoria is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
