Softball Recap: Westgate Comes Up Short

Westgate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to Hanson Memorial. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Westgate of the 8-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Westgate saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Bourque, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Westgate's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hanson Memorial, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westgate will host North Vermilion at 5:30 p.m. on March 6th. As for Hanson Memorial, they will be playing at home against Ascension Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hanson Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
