Soccer Game Preview: Hononegah vs. DeKalb

The Hononegah Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the DeKalb Barbs at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Hononegah's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Rockford East as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, DeKalb made sure to put some goals up on the board against Sterling on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Golden Warriors with a sharp 6-1 victory. The win continues a trend for DeKalb in their matchups with Sterling: they've now won eight in a row.

Hononegah now has a winning record of 6-5. As for DeKalb, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8-1.

Hononegah beat DeKalb by a goal in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
