Edwards County had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past the Eldorado Eagles 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 on Tuesday.

Jackson Hensley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cash Conner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Rhodes, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Edwards County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eldorado only posted an OBP of .292.

Edwards County pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Eldorado, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Edwards County will challenge Flora at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eldorado, they will square off against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Fighting Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Fighting Cardinals are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
