Football Recap: Winona Wildcats vs. Lone Oak Buffaloes
Winona fell victim to Lone Oak and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 27-0 defeat at the hands of the Lone Oak Buffaloes. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row dating back to last season.
Slayde Parnell was a one-man wrecking crew for Lone Oak as he threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards. The dominant performance gave Parnell a new career-high in rushing yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Tre Hubbard, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lone Oak, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Winona will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hawkins at 7:00 p.m. As for Lone Oak, they are taking a road trip to take on Big Sandy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
