Basketball Game Preview: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Community School of Davidson Spartans

Christ the King hasn't had much luck against Community School of Davidson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest, having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Community School of Davidson will be up against a hot Christ the King squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Christ the King really took it to Corvian Community for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-16 win. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Cardinals are ranked 488th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Christ the King's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audrey Gorman, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Broda, who put up 11 points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Community School of Davidson over Pine Lake Prep in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Community School of Davidson blew Pine Lake Prep out of the water with a 64-35 final score. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Pride recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Christ the King better keep an eye on Regan Downey. She was instrumental in Community School of Davidson's win, going 8-for-15 to rack up 20 points and seven boards. Carlee Rounds was another key player, putting up five points.

Community School of Davidson pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points over those games. As for Christ the King, their victory bumped their record up to 19-5.
