Basketball Recap: Palm Beach Lakes Takes a Loss

Palm Beach Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dwyer Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Panthers are ranked 86th).

JORDAN QUINCE continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dwyer, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. QUINCE has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was VINCENT KOKONIS, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Palm Beach Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Dwyer, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Palm Beach Lakes will square off against Palm Beach Gardens at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Palm Beach Lakes is facing Palm Beach Gardens at the right time seeing as Palm Beach Gardens is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dwyer, they will be playing at home against Seminole Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Dwyer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season.
