East Columbus is 9-1 against West Columbus since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The East Columbus Gators will welcome the West Columbus Vikings at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in East Columbus' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while West Columbus has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

On Friday, East Columbus was fully in charge, breezing past South Columbus 48-5. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, West Columbus played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Whiteville and fell 45-18. The Vikings were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

East Columbus will have to keep a close watch on Iyana Lowery and Makayla Jennings, a pair of players who had a big impact on West Columbus' prior game. Lowery posted six points in addition to nine rebounds and five steals, while Jennings put up no points.

East Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for West Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Everything came up roses for East Columbus against West Columbus when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-21 win. Will East Columbus repeat their success, or does West Columbus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
