Softball Recap: Calvary Christian Falls Short of Wilson Christian Academy in the Playoffs

Calvary Christian and Wilson Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Calvary Christian had to settle for second. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougar of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Calvary Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Celia Scott, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Joy Waldroup also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Calvary Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Wilson Christian Academy, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Calvary Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilson Christian Academy, they will challenge Union Grove Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
