Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Alia Riddle and Lyla Tate Lead Heyworth to Victory

Heyworth won the last time they faced Ridgeview and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hornets walked away with a 2-0 win over the Mustangs.

Heyworth was led to victory by Lyla Tate and Alia Riddle. Tate had 11 kills, nine digs, and one block, while Riddle had eight digs and three aces. Tate is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had eight or more in each of the last 17 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Mammen, who had eight digs.

Heyworth is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for Ridgeview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-19.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Heyworth is set to take on their familiar foe El Paso-Gridley at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ridgeview will face off against rival Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
