After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gardendale, Hueytown was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Jasper Vikings get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Golden Gophers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Caleb Chapman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Hueytown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 23-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Jasper, they dropped their record down to 13-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hueytown will host Mountain Brook at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jasper, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Haleyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
