Game recap: Northern Highlands grabs high school football team late lead to take down Teaneck

After five lead changes, Northern Highlands (Allendale, N.J.) took the lead for good when Brandon Latierno ran for a touchdown with 5:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat Teaneck (N.J.) 27-20 on Saturday.

The Highwaymen pulled ahead on a two-point conversion, and subsequently went into halftime leading 8-7. The Highlanders scored the winning points with a touchdown run by Latierno that came in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring 13 points in the third, Northern Highlands still trailed by 6 points going into the fourth quarter. But seven points in the fourth helped NH pull out the victory.

Latierno played well for the Allendale school in the victory. The junior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.



The Highlanders got revenge for last year's 21-3 loss to Teaneck with the victory.

In a Big North - Colonial game next week Teaneck (0-6) takes on Wayne Valley, and Northern Highlands (3-3) will go up against Wayne Valley also in a Big North - Colonial game.
