Basketball Game Preview: Anderson Indians vs. Muncie Central Bearcats

Having just played yesterday, the Anderson Indians will get right back to it and host the Muncie Central Bearcats at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Anderson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests.

Anderson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Indianapolis Washington 102-64. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Continentals are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Muncie Central was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 76-55 to Marion. The matchup was a close 31-29 at the break, but unfortunately for the Bearcats it sure didn't stay that way.

Anderson will have to contain Shemar Taylor as he made an impact in Muncie Central's last game. He posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lj Strange, who had ten points.

Even though they lost, Muncie Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Anderson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.4 points over those games. As for Muncie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Everything came up roses for Anderson against Muncie Central when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-30 win. Will Anderson repeat their success, or does Muncie Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
