Volleyball Recap: Aragon Dons vs. Salinas Cowboys

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Aragon had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Salinas Cowboys. That's more bragging rights for the Dons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aragon never let Salinas on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 26-24.

Caitlyn Robertson paced Aragon's offense, picking up ten kills. Robertson got some help from Gabriella Xiao and her 25 assists. Emilia Kunkel controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Salinas still got an impressive performance from Rylee Eastin, who had 20 digs.

Aragon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 21-17 record this season. As for Salinas, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-11.

Aragon will venture away from home to take on Branham at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aragon is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Salinas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
