Baseball Game Preview: Porter Cowboys vs. Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets

The Porter Cowboys will head out on the road to challenge the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Porter is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Porter came up short against Harlingen South on Thursday, falling 11-2.

Edcouch-Elsa couldn't beat Donna on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Redskins by a score of 9-8.

Steven Rivera made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Barco, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Edcouch-Elsa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Porter, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Porter came out on top in a nail-biter against Edcouch-Elsa when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Cowboys have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
