Basketball Recap: William Byrd Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for William Byrd, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-46 win over the Bassett Bengals on Wednesday. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Terriers were down 30-10 in the second quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Bassett lost, don't look at Isaiah Perkins. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points. That was a full 39.1% of Bassett's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. David Cook was another key player, putting up nine points.

The win got William Byrd back to even at 1-1. As for Bassett, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

William Byrd wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-40 defeat against Salem on the 13th. Bassett has also already played their next game, a 53-49 loss against Dan River on the 13th.
