Softball Recap: Elk River Comes Up Short

Elk River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mayo Spartans.

Elk River's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Mayo, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Elk River didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-4 defeat against St. Francis on the 26th. As for Mayo, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Andover on the 26th.
