Basketball Recap: Lee Williams Victorious

Lee Williams can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They slipped by the Green Valley Gators 23-22. This was a revenge game for the Volunteers: when they faced off against the Gators on Friday, they had to take a 39-37 defeat.

Despite the loss, Green Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tabitha Bwakamba posted two points and eight rebounds. Bwakamba is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Lee Williams' win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Green Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Lee Williams will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mingus at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Mingus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season. As for Green Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-26 defeat against Las Vegas on the 28th.
