Football Recap: Momence Takes a Loss

Momence managed to slip by Westville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Momence Athletics had to suffer through a 63-18 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Momence Athletics were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Momence lost on Friday, don't look at Dakota Lewke. Despite the final result, he rushed for 92 yards and two TDs on only nine carries. Lewke's longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Momence also got help from Jayden Dau, who showed off his sure hands for 142 receiving yards.

Momence is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Westville, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
