Baseball Game Preview: Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks vs. DasCHE Spartans

The Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the DasCHE Spartans at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

Fairfax HomeSchool came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Wake County HomeSchool, falling 9-1. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, DasCHE came into Thursday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Aspire HomeSchool a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. The Spartans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 12-0).

The result came thanks to Jackson Gardner's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, DasCHE let Ashton Laurendine and Cameron Melerine run wild. Laurendine went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Melerine went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs Melerine has posted since back in March.

Fairfax HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12-1. As for DasCHE, their win bumped their record up to 12-17.
