Hoosac Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the Wahconah Regional Warriors by a score of 36-28. For the Hurricanes, this counts as revenge for the 22-18 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hoosac Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamarion Kastner, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Qwanell Bradley handled things on the ground, rushing for 84 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Wahconah Regional's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Hoosac Valley and Wahconah Regional will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Hurricanes see the field they'll take on Pittsfield at 5:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Wahconah Regional, their break will end when they face Lee/Lenox Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
