Basketball Game Preview: Madison Southern Eagles vs. Lexington Catholic Knights

The Madison Southern Eagles will face off against the Lexington Catholic Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Madison Southern and four for Lexington Catholic.

Last Friday, Madison Southern lost to Rockcastle County on the road by a 62-43 margin. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 19 points.

Meanwhile, Lexington Catholic ended up a good deal behind Rowan County on Tuesday and lost 64-46. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Vikings are ranked 49th).

Lexington Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Madison Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Madison Southern strolled past Lexington Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 45-28. Will Madison Southern repeat their success, or does Lexington Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
