After a string of seven wins, Phoenix Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 15-5 to the Tombstone Yellow Jackets. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this contest were averaging 2.69 runs allowed.

Timmy Randolph made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Nate Burton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Phoenix Christian's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Tombstone, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Phoenix Christian will take on Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Tombstone, they will square off against Desert Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.08 runs per game on average), something the Yellow Jackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
