Baseball Game Preview: Biddeford Tigers vs. Massabesic Mustangs

The Biddeford Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Massabesic Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Biddeford's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Massabesic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Biddeford's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Falmouth hitters got past them. The Tigers came up short against the Navigators on Saturday, falling 10-3. The Tigers have struggled against the Navigators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Travis Edgerton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Massabesic hadn't done well against Sanford recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Spartans a 4-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

The team relied heavily on Cassius Hogan, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nolan Brooks, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Biddeford's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Massabesic, their record now sits at 4-6-1.
