Softball Recap: Randolph-Henry Comes Up Short

Randolph-Henry managed to slip by Lunenburg Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Statesmen lost 6-0 to the Chargers on Tuesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Randolph-Henry saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Townsend, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base. Lindsay Locke also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Randolph-Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lunenburg Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Randolph-Henry will square off against rival Prince Edward County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lunenburg Central is set to face off against their familiar foe Nottoway at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
