Basketball Recap: Freeman Skates Past Canistota with Ease

Freeman hadn't done well against Canistota recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Freeman Flyers blew past the Canistota Hawks, posting a 76-42 victory. For the Flyers, this counts as revenge for the 64-39 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freeman to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Walter, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Walter a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Tate Sorensen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Freeman and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Canistota, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Freeman will venture away from home to take on White River at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. Canistota and Gayville-Volin will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th.
