Basketball Recap: Walkertown Piles Up the Points Against Mcmichael

Walkertown came tearing into Monday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the McMichael Phoenix 82-47. The Wolfpack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Walkertown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenan Grady out in front who went 9-for-14 on his way to 25 points and eight rebounds. Grady is becoming a predictor of Walkertown's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 9-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Jaden McCandies was another key player, going 7-for-14 to rack up 17 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Walkertown pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points over those games. As for McMichael, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

Looking ahead, Walkertown and West Stokes will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. Walkertown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully West Stokes likes a good challenge. McMichael does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
