Basketball Game Preview: Walnut Hills Eagles vs. Lebanon Warriors

Walnut Hills and Lebanon are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Walnut Hills Eagles will take on the Lebanon Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, Walnut Hills lost to Mt. Healthy at home by a 71-54 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Fighting Owls are ranked 538th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lebanon). They took down Maret 72-55 on Sunday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Walnut Hills' loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Lebanon, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.

Walnut Hills couldn't quite finish off Lebanon when the teams last played back in January and fell 38-35. Can Walnut Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
