Basketball Preview: Panther Valley Panthers vs. Lehighton Indians
Panther Valley and the Indians are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Panther Valley Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Lehighton Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Panther Valley might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 63-43 to the Blue Raiders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Panther Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Lehighton earned a 58-45 win over the Cardinals on Friday. Given Lehighton's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Cardinals are ranked 635th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Panther Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Lehighton, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
Panther Valley lost to the Indians on the road by a decisive 68-53 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Panther Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
