It was a good run, but Maiden unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Newton-Conover Red Devils by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Kam Fulbright was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Maiden saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Maiden's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Newton-Conover, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

While Maiden had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
