There's no place like home for Momence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Iroquois West Raiders 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Momence Athletics in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won seven in a row.

Momence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-13, 25-18.

Adyki Gunn paced Momence's offense, picking up seven kills. Gunn got some help from Marissa Lambert and her 16 assists. Maryah Crite controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Momence now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Iroquois West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, Momence will face off against Clifton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Iroquois West, they will host Watseka at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Raiders their first taste of in-conference action this season.
