Basketball Recap: Levi Hinton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Community Christian over Still Creek Christian

Community Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Still Creek Christian Colts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-25 last Saturday.

Community Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Levi Hinton, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 21 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Hinton a new career-high in points. Ben Samuel was another key player, going 6 for 13 to rack up 17 points.

Still Creek Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Walton, who went 8 of 20 en route to 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Walton has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Reed, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

Community Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Still Creek Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Still Creek Christian, they will welcome KOR Education School at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
