Preview: Lincoln Lutheran Warriors vs. Auburn Bulldogs
The Lincoln Lutheran Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Auburn Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After soaring to 67 points the game before, Lincoln Lutheran were a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They fell 38-25 to St. Cecilia. While losing is never fun, Lincoln Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while St. Cecilia is ranked 29th).
The losing side was boosted by Jenna Luebbe, who scored 14 points. That was a full 56% of Lincoln Lutheran's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Auburn came up short against Syracuse on Tuesday and fell 46-36.
Lincoln Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Auburn, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Lincoln Lutheran strolled past Auburn when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 46-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln Lutheran since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
