Preview: Trinity Bulldogs vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies
Trinity has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinity will be strutting in after a victory while Oak Grove will be coming in after a loss.
Even though East Davidson scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Trinity still came out on top. Trinity took down East Davidson 73-56.
It was another big night for Dominic Payne, who scored 32 points along with 9 rebounds. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hodges, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-52 to Thomasville. Oak Grove has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Oak Grove's win bumped their season record to 2-1 while Trinity's defeat dropped theirs to 3-3.
Trinity came up short against Oak Grove when the teams last played on Friday, falling 56-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Oak Grove's Loucas Shoaf, who scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds. Now that Trinity knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
