Volleyball Recap: Badger Takes a Loss

Badger's tournament run continued when they took on West Salem on Saturday. The Badgers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1.

Meara Heiselmann paced Badger's offense, picking up ten kills. Heiselmann got some help from Laina Kirsch and her eight assists. Kirsch was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Addie Jehn was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 assists. Kirsten Hubbard also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Badger has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-16 record this season. As for West Salem, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Badger has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Cuba City on the 11th. As for West Salem, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Amherst on the 11th.
