Softball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Glencoe's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Glencoe unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 6-3 to the Sherwood Bowmen. If the Crimson Tide were looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to the Bowmen when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Glencoe's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-5. As for Sherwood, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Glencoe will face off against rival Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sherwood is set to take on their familiar foe McMinnville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bowmen 1.9, the Grizzlies 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
