Softball Game Preview: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Central of Clay County Volunteers

The Sylacauga Aggies will venture away from home to face off against the Central of Clay County Volunteers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sylacauga has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Sylacauga lost 14-4 to Tallassee on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Aggies in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Sylacauga saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alaina Bryant, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Brookelyn Harris also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central of Clay County). They were the clear victor by a 14-6 margin over Childersburg on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Volunteers.

Sylacauga's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Central of Clay County, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Sylacauga couldn't quite finish off Central of Clay County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Sylacauga avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
