Soccer Game Preview: Cyprus vs. Granger

The Cyprus Pirates will head out to face off against the Granger Lancers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cyprus' last six matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Cyprus and Taylorsville, and Cyprus kept the tradition alive. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Pirates who were credited with the win last Thursday. Cyprus got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Taylorsville's three.

Cyprus will be up against a hot Granger squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Lancers put the hurt on Kearns with a sharp 5-0 victory last Wednesday. Considering Granger have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Kearns with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Luis Salazar (2), Jorge Carranza, Jean Toro, and Adrian Hernandez.

Cyprus now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Granger, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
