Recap: William Floyd Colonials vs. Mount Sinai Mustangs
The William Floyd Colonials had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 69-59 win over Mount Sinai on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Mount Sinai still got an impressive performance from Dominic Pennzello, who scored 32 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Kolsch, who scored 7 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals.
William Floyd's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Mount Sinai, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. William Floyd will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ward Melville at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Mount Sinai, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Islip at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
