Softball Recap: Dimond Wins High-Profile Match Against Juneau-Douglas

Dimond faced Juneau-Douglas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lynx's pitcher stepped up to hand the Crimson Bears a 12-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Lynx as they're now sitting on three straight.

Aubree Ogee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Kinsey MacDonald was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. Another player making a difference was Rachel Whetten, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Dimond lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Dimond's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Juneau-Douglas, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10-1 record this season.
