Basketball Game Preview: Northview Titans vs. Marist War Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Northview Titans will get right back to it and host the Marist War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Marist will be up against a hot Northview team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Northview put the hurt on Westlake with a sharp 58-37 win on Monday.

Tamariana Bivins was her usual excellent self, going 7 for 11 on her way to 18 points along with five boards and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harmonee Jackson, who went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Marist came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 77-19 victory over the Spartans. With the War Eagles ahead 55-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Marist's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points per game. As for Northview, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
