Basketball Recap: Jackson Falls Short of Orange Beach in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jackson can now relate to. They fell 50-38 to the Orange Beach Makos on Friday. The Aggies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Makos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Jackson still got an impressive performance from Angel Powell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Powell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Sims, who posted nine points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Jackson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive matchups.

Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Orange Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 11-20.

Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orange Beach, they will face off against Straughn on Wednesday.
