Baseball Game Preview: Bellevue East Chieftains vs. Burke Bulldogs

The Bellevue East Chieftains will take on the Burke Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bellevue East has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 22.

Bellevue East's tournament run continued when they took on Lincoln Southeast on Saturday. The Chieftains lost 13-4 to the Knights.

Brody Graham made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Jace Taggart, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Columbus hit Burke with a 11-run seventh inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs came up short against the Discoverers, falling 14-2. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Discoverers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Burke's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Bellevue East, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-18.

Bellevue East beat Burke 5-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Chieftains repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
